Passion, Unleashed

Long time since I've posted it seems!

This is the first song I finished in 2007. Was going through quite an angsty period at the beginning of the year, so I wrote this to remind me that the way to get through the hard points of life is with passion, that just to 'live with it' isn't enough. It's also partly inspired by a poster I've got which depicts a close up picture of a red rose, with the words "Nothing in this world has ever been accomplished without passion"

For too long now she's sat alone
Looking in, withdrawn, curtains always drawn
Mental campfire, telling stories
Trading life for former glories
Searching for some hidden meaning
Or just a reason to keep feeling
On her fingers counts her losses
Victories for evil's forces
Dreaming that she'll find a way
To feel that she's alive again

The time has come to push the button
We're overdue to see some passion

But to them it seems like nothing's changed
Live for love but the fish ain't biting

Broken record played in monotone

It's up to us now to rise above failure
