A song I wrote very quickly, inspired by my girlfriend at the time ... again, I think she liked it. It's a fast paced modern rock song really, possibly with some punkish overtones ... if that makes sense! There are some bits where it appears that the line is far too long to fit the rhythm, this is deliberate, and those lines are sung even faster to fit it all in. I think this is an alright song, the melody I hear to it is actually rather hooky and catchy. I think the countdown bits serve as a pretty good hook as well.

Warrior Queen - August 2004
Born to fight
Raised to always fight to win
Blessed with the moves
Of a warrior queen
Born to a tiger with
A golden eagle in her soul
Raised by wolves on a diet of
Learning how to fly by learning how to fall
Three, two, one
Let the battle begin
Chorus:
Fight for the night it'll be alright
For tonight there's a victory
Playing a game that is one and the same
My love is a warrior queen
Rise from the ashes of glowing defeat
Ready for battle again
Once was a student and now the elite
Fighting in freedom's name
Ten, nine, eight, anticipation in the air
Seven, six, five, see the hunt on the wind
Four, three, two, the odds are stacked up against her
One, let the battle begin
Chorus:
Fight for the night it'll be alright
For tonight there's a victory
Playing a game that is one and the same
My love is a warrior queen
Ten, nine eight, for a moment she raises me
Seven, six, five, up to more than I am
Four, three, two, and now she plunges
One....... into battle again
Chorus:
Fight for the night it'll be alright
For tonight there's a victory
Playing a game that is one and the same
My love is a warrior queen
Fight for the night it'll be alright
For tonight there's a victory
Playing a game that is one and the same
My love is a warrior queen
My love is a warrior queen
My love is a warrior queen
Best I've ever seen
Three, two, one
Let the battle begin
